1 What types of motorhome do Laika make?

Laika offers a wide range of recreational vehicles, including Coachbuilt motorhomes, A-Class motorhomes and Camper Vans. Each vehicle is designed to combine Italian style, comfort and functionality.

2 What's the difference between a coachbuilt and an A-class?

An A-Class motorhome features a fully integrated front end developed by the motorhome manufacturer, providing a more spacious living area and an expansive panoramic view. In contrast, a coachbuilt motorhome retains the original driver’s cab of the underlying base vehicle.

3 What's the difference between a motorhome and a campervan?

A campervan is built on a van chassis and offers compact dimensions that make it easy to drive and park. A motorhome provides more living space, larger storage areas and additional comfort features.

4 Where are Laika motorhomes built?

Laika motorhomes are built in Tuscany, Italy. The company’s production facility is located in San Casciano in Val di Pesa, near Florence. This is where Laika combines Italian design, advanced manufacturing technology and more than 60 years of experience to create premium recreational vehicles.

5 Can a Laika motorhome be driven on a B licence?

Whether a Laika motorhome can be driven on a Category B driving licence depends on the model and its permitted gross weight. Most Laika models, including several Ecovip layouts, can be driven on a B licence. Premium models such as the Kreos exceed the 3.5-tonne limit and require a higher licence category. The vehicle’s weight may also vary depending on the selected optional equipment and configuration.

6 How do I choose between coachbuilt and A-class?

Choosing between a Coachbuilt and an A-Class motorhome depends on your travel style and priorities. A Coachbuilt model offers a practical combination of comfort, efficiency and value. An A-Class model provides additional living space, a panoramic driving experience and premium features, making it ideal for extended touring.

7 How much does a Laika motorhome cost?

8 Where can I test-drive one?

Laika motorhomes can be test-driven at Laika dealership depending on model availabilities during events and exhibitions.

9 Can I visit the Laika factory in Tuscany?

Laika welcomes visitors to experience the brand’s heritage and craftsmanship at its headquarters in Tuscany. Factory visits are currently paused, but we look forward to opening our doors again soon. Availability and booking details will be communicated promptly on our official website.

* The specified mass in running order is a default value defined in the type-approval procedure. Due to manufacturing tolerances, the actual weighed mass in running order may deviate from the value stated above. Deviations of up to ± 5 % of the mass in running order are legally permissible and possible. The permissible range in kilograms is given in brackets after the mass in running order.  The manufacturer-specified mass for optional equipment is a calculated value for each type and layout that LAIKA uses to determine the maximum weight available for factory-fitted optional equipment. The limitation of optional equipment is intended to ensure that the minimum pay-mass, i.e. the legally prescribed free mass for baggage and retrofitted accessories, is actually available for the vehicle load capacity of the vehicles delivered by LAIKA.  The real weight of your vehicle ex works can only be determined when it is weighed at the end of the line. If, in exceptional cases, the weighing shows that the actual load capacity falls below theminimum pay-mass despite limiting the optional equipment due to a permissible weight deviation, we will check together with your trade partner and you whether we should, for example, increase the load capacity of the vehicle, reduce the number of seats or remove optional equipment before delivering the vehicle.  The technically permissible maximum laden mass of the vehicle and the technically permissible maximum mass on the axle must not be exceeded.
