LAIKA VEHICLES: HIGH LEVEL SYSTEMS FOR VERY COMFORTABLE WINTER HOLIDAYS
Tavarnelle Val di Pesa November 2011: The technical features that allow you to stay in a LAIKA motorhome are manifold. First, the insulation of walls, floor and roof. Laika uses as a special insulating material, the Styrofoam. Thank to this material and to its high density, Laika motorhomes can be used in all climates, also very cold ones and in the mountains.
When developing a new motorhome, Laika always takes care that the water system is in a non freeze position. A special mention goes to innovative construction type of the new Kreos A-Class.
In the new Kreos A-class you can choose the type of heating you prefer: Truma C6 heating (standard) or Alde heating. With the Alde heating you have 17 mt radiators in the vehicle (in the garage, in the double floor, in the driving cab, under the cab seats and along the perimetre of the cab). The Laika Research & Development Department has developed the furniture and the bodywork with the ALDE heating in mind so that a performing air circulation can be assured. This means that – even if the Alde heating is an option – its heating performance is the same as if it were standard. The TESTS that were carried out on the LAIKA KREOS in the COLD CHAMBER (at Truma, Muenich, Germany) showed the excellent performance of these motorhomes. According to the test procedure, a vehicle on test must pass from – 15°C to + 20°C in four hours. The Laika Kroes 7009 reached + 20°C in 3 hours and 9 minutes: an excellent performance.
And much more….
The LAIKA KREOS A-class can be used at very low temperatures thanks to the LAIKA THERMO CAB SYSTEM. This system provides warm air through many warm air vents placed in the cab and insulation is increased thanks to an insulating panel placed between the engine area and the cab.. Another important element which contributes to the insulation of the cab is the LAIKA ISO-ROLLUP BLIND (opt). You can install this blind near the standard two-layers sliding blind. This creates a warm air chamber between the two blinds which increases insulation.
The water tanks are positioned on heated panels which keep water constantly luke-warm (with ALDE heating). The whole system is in a non-freeze position, with both the ALDE and the TRUMA heating systems. On Iveco models the waste water tank is located in a special heated compartment.
Laika vehicles, thanks to all the tricks for optimum insulation and heating, represent the right compromise for countries with particularly cold climates or for winter sports.
